Who loves mini breakdowns in bars? oh oh me me!!

Saturday I was so stressed/sad about my brother and my ma constantly needing money that I had a good cry around 1am. Of course, being the delightful boyfriend he is, Boyfriend calmed me down and told me that Gretl and I have to come up with a game plan for our mom and suggested a couple. Gretl is in NY, but I emailed her and gave her a heads up that we came up with a plan. What is it? First, I can't believe that we didn't think of it. Second, I guess I haven't thought of a plan because I keep pretending that she just won't ask us for money. Silly, silly me. Anyway, it's so simple- we each put a few dollars aside each paycheck and either send it to her, or whoever pays the bill that month gets the money. It will be so much less stressful to know that we have $60-$80 set aside for her specifically.

In other news, my brother is already out of the hospital! He apparently adopted an expensive oxycontin habit. He had cleaned himself up over the summer, but when he had his wisdom teeth taken out, it went downhill. I talked to him everyday he was in rehab (3 day hospital detox stay) and each day he sounded better and better. He made the decision to go, which I think will be key to him completely recovering. He's still on some meds to help curb the craving and will do group therapy a few times a week to keep on track. He's also going to be staying with our dad part of the time and his mom part of the time. I feel much better today than I did on Saturday. I'm so glad he knew he needed help and took the steps to get it. He realized it was over his head and that he was sick of living his life that way and did something and for that I am proud of him.
