Title of the Piece: Party fall

Let me start by saying that my boots have no traction and I tend to slip a lot in them-- mostly b/c I wore the heel down and when it hits the floor just right, I slip.

Last night- huge industry party. I'm wearing "the" boots. I hit a slippery spot on the floor and down I went. I threw my drink over my shoulder- just the booze mind you, I held onto the cup. The booze kindly landed in my hair and on my dress. I landed super hard on my knee. And then I sat there, stunned for a few seconds, hoping that somehow that did not just happen. Of course I was not with my pals at the time. Some really nice girl helped me up and listened to me ramble about how embarrassed I was. She was encouraging me to get another drink, I declined. I'm sure the 2 shots and 5 drinks I'd already had helped lead to the loss of balance.

I found my friends, demonstrated several times and then got that 6th drink. Oy, I feel like I was "that girl" even though it really was slippery!
