Title of the Piece: Another one bitest the dust Painted at 11:19 a.m. on 2008-08-26
Well, yet again, it's me and the boss at work. Our ad trafficker just quit. See when there's only 4 people on a team and 2 of them quit, it kind of sucks. Hopefully I'll be the next to find a super-awesome-oh-holy-wow job, but right now I'm feeling saucy and just want to be pissed for a few minutes. I'm mostly pissed because I'm sure that until we find replacements, I'll get to do 3 jobs and not be compensated. Last time I fought for my commission by saying "hey, I had to take over someone else's job for a bit" I was asked "well, isn't that just part of your job?" Which, I get. I don't mind helping out, but when it's stuff that I don't really understand and I don't break the site and part of my commission is based on the job I do, I think I should be compensated. Ugh anyway, I suppose there's some good to it... for example, I hope that I won't have to hear about various eating issues anymore. I really can't handle "here's the diet I'm on this week" or "hey DeJour want to do detox with us this week" or "omg, I'm so fat. (10 minutes later) I'm going for deep dish pizza for lunch". And this means I won't have to do lunches with our intern anymore. Yesterday she announced "well when you grow up with a house keeper... lalalala" I stopped listening. All I know is she thinks it's great her roommate cleans. I guess maybe she thinks house keepers and roommates are kind of the same. On to good news... t-minus 6 days until the move. I'm pretty much completely packed. We get to move in a few days early, so that'll be nice. It's only 1/2 block from where I am now, so I'll hoof some stuff down this weekend before we get the truck. Also, my cat has taken over my sleep. She's back in the habit of waking between 4 and 5 and wanting treats. If she doesn't get them, she starts doing naughty stuff. You know... eating a lamp cord or shade, eating paper, eating her fur off the floor. Little things that drive me bonkers when I'm 1/2 asleep. I think it's just easier to get up and give her treats. Keep in mind that she's 14 so it'll be a little tough to re-train her. She got so used to 4 am treats when I was in the coffee shop that she just can't break the habit, or at least has to slip into it a few months out of the year.
